Really busy, but decent and clean campgrounds, no issues, they have a nice beach on a pond, that is also good for fishing, catch and release. Caught a nice bass and a few sunfish fishing for only about a half hour. Only disappointment is I think they need more bathrooms in certain areas and they could use a small general store.
Snow was amazing!
Everyone was kind and respectful.
Parking is awful.. leave really early or sit in the po parking lot for 2 hours and wait it out.
There's only one in and 1 out.
No cash policy there .. price are a wee bit high but that seems normal these days
Nice, very clean campground except the showers. The water isn't very hot. Not being able to connect to water was an inconvenience too but we knew that going in, it was going to be tough. We thought we'd just shower at the bathhouse it would be fine for a few days but the showers luke warm and pretty miserable. That's why I only gave 4 stars. Other than that I'd say great little park to stay in. The beach area is nice. And the play grounds everywhere throughout the park are a nice addition. There are plenty of picnic tables and several covered pavilions to have gatherings or birthday parties overlooking the water which is nice. The water is very clear for a lake. My dogs loved the water.
Over all very clean park. Plus for being close to groceries and restaurants.
Camped there twice this summer. I enjoyed both trips! Staff is really friendly and helpful. Very clean. Great place to explore and make great memories!
Very peaceful. The ground was still covered in snow, but you could tell underneath was mud. This park is known for its mud. Not too strenuous. Lots of trails to explore; especially for those trying to escape the amusement park for a while.
The swimming area at this park is incredibly small. The “beach” area is more mud than sand. You’ll need to check ahead before coming because the water is often closed for swimming. The swimming area is close to the restrooms and wooden tables for picnics.
Nice, small state park. Very friendly and speedy welcome staff help to get you checked in and on your way to your site. Beach was clean and nice. Sites were adequately spaced. I would stay here again if visiting the amusement park.
Cons: Water pump by our site was out of order (there were others accessible to us), bathrooms were gross and small (feminine hygiene products stuffed in corner never cleaned up in 3.5 day stay), no general store for convenience purchases like ice or wood, dumpsters were nowhere to be found on way out (supposed to be by dumping station but were not there when we left so we took ours home).
Quaint spot. Very clean and well maintained. There's a lot of wildlife. Seems like a pretty nice place for a relaxed kayak ride.
